AK-47
AK-47 is one of the most awarded strains of cannabis in the world. Its name was given by the “one-hit” wonder capabilities of the buds. It has an extremely sweet, spicy aroma when flowering, and the buds retain that same fragrance indefinitely when stored properly. It is a cross between 3 sativas and an indica, and as such, is very relaxing and inspirational when vaporized. AK-47 does not seem to put patients asleep or have strong de-motivational effects. However, one patient mentioned that there seems to be no “plateau” effect; the more ingested, the more effect the buds have on the patient. This is an extremely popular strain with those who suffer from glaucoma and chronic pain.
Legend’s Ultimate Indica
The Ultimate Indica we produce was developed in collaboration between Breeder Steve of Spice of Life Seeds and Red of Legends Seeds. It is a cross between the medically valued Ortega strain and Sweet Tooth #3, also a highly prized Indica. The phenotype grown in our gardens has a nutty, earthy aroma and taste. It is a favorite of those who are not particularly fond of the sweet, fruity strains so common in the cannabis world. This is 100% Indica, and has extremely calming effects. It is generally recommended for pain management, and also is good for those with sleep disorders such as insomnia. Although this strain can lull you to sleep very quickly, there is no “cloudy” hangover in the morning, like one experiences with popular sleep-aids on the drugstore shelves. It is very popular among those patients who tend to get anxious after medicating, describing mild “paranoia” and negative thoughts. If a patient has these tendencies, “LUI” (Legends Ultimate Indica) is the strain we always recommend.
Grape Haze
Grape Haze is actually a phenotype of Super Silver Haze developed by crossing Skunk, Northern Lights, and the mighty Haze plant. Our plants do not produce huge amounts, and the buds themselves do not tend to show the insane amounts of resin that our other varieties possess. But don’t be fooled; this is potent medicine! It takes much longer to produce this sativa-dominated strain; but we feel it is extremely worth the extra time it takes. It has a “creeper” effect; the medication takes a moment to affect the patient. It has a tremendous “body high”, and can also be inspirational to the mind. It can also make the patient very social and talkative, and generates good feelings when vaporized. Our plants have a very strong sour grape fragrance, and a nice grape flavor upon exhalation. We are the only producers of this strain in Colorado, to the best of our knowledge. It is a very long-lasting sativa; one of our patients feels its effects for many hours after ingesting a small amount of this beautiful medicine.
Island Sweet Skunk
Island Sweet Skunk was produced in Vancouver, BC, and is tremendously popular among the Canadian medical cannabis community. It has a very unique aroma and taste, a skunky start gives way to a citrus finish. Island Sweet Skunk has been shown to produce high amounts of THC (+/- 20%), and the flavor alone makes it a favorite of medical patients. It has very soothing effects on digestive tract ailments, and can almost immediately relieve the nausea associated with chemo/radiation therapy for cancer patients.
